Creation of Greater Bengal
By Prof. SB Tyagi, Chief Councillor at ICISSM
Today Bangladesh interim Government revokes ban on Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami (BJI) and its student wing, Islami Chhatra Shibir, stressing that the organizations are not involved in terrorist activities. Immediately BJI has demanded for a Greater Bangladesh or Greater Bangal. They also released the proposed map, which shows major parts of India.
BJI is a major Islamist political party in Bangladesh. Its predecessor, the Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan, strongly opposed the independence of Bangladesh and break-up of Pakistan.
In India the banned ‘Jamaat-e-Islami Hind’ is continuing to be involved in fomenting terrorism and anti-India propaganda for fueling secessionism. The organization receives funds from Saudi Arabia universities to spread radical Islam in India. In October 2023, the JIH) hosted an event to in solidarity with the Hamas terrorists who massacred hundreds of innocent civilians in Israel.
The Bangladeshi terror modules which had been attempting to carry out terror attacks in India may try to smuggle Islamist extremists as well as terrorists in the garb of Hindu refugees fleeing persecution and furthering their agenda of Islamising India through radicalism, brainwashing and increased terror activities and insurgencies on India’s eastern front.
Interestingly if we see the map of Bangalistan or Greater Bangladesh, the Indian territories, which are proposed to be included in it, are having the borders with Bangladesh where from likely refugees will cross over to come to India.
Our forces have successfully repelled the surging crowd from Bangladesh attempting to crossover to India apparently as refugees running away after the violence and terror on Hindus. There are high chances that active jihadist and supporters of Islamic fundamentalist will gain entry to India through the borders in Tripura, Assam and West Bengal and later on will reorganize themselves and support the cause of Bengalistan.
West Bangal chief minister has openly threatened yesterday about the proposed retaliation in Bihar, Assam, Tripura and all other states of India if central government dares to do anything to topple her government. The already agitated society of West Bengal has seen how goons and rowdies of a political party can unleash violence and mayhem.
I am sure the central government has taken note of pain and anguish of honorable president and will be planning to take effective action on failed law and order situation and collapse of government machinery in restoring peace and normalcy. However I am also sure that Government of India is weighing all pros and cons and aware of potential violent reaction from the ruling party of West Bengal. The chief minister of West Bengal is appearing to be megalomaniac and nursing grandiose ideas of herself ruling over Greater Bengal. And with her past record it cannot be ruled out that direct or indirect support to any such initiative of creating Greater Bengal doesn’t receive her tacit support.
