This case study delves into the measures adopted and action taken to curb and combat the smuggling of counterfeit reputed brands of shampoo from China to Nepal to Bihar (India). This Investigation pointed towards a smuggling route originating from China through Nepal into India.
This process also involved an interesting and innovative method whereby Nepalese women carried baskets of counterfeit goods, including reputed shampoo brands, across the border into the towns of Bihar (India). This clandestine operation exploited the porous borders and unsuspecting customs officials to infiltrate into the Indian markets undetected.
