– Accommodative Innovation: He mentioned the concept of “accommodative innovation,” where AI can assist in decision-making, but individuals should also practice “disciplined disobedience” to the tool, ensuring they retain the ability to make their own decisions when necessary.
– Algorithmic Decision-Making: Building algorithms similar to the current decision-making protocols, enabling a balance between automated decision-making and human judgment.
– Measurement and Metrics: He stressed the importance of measuring the effectiveness of AI and human collaboration, suggesting the use of Six Sigma benchmarks but at a scale that reflects the current speed and volume of operations.
– Balanced Scorecard Approach: Sastry recommended using a balanced scorecard approach to depict various aspects of operations, learning, customer perspective, and financial perspective, to evaluate how AI has contributed to the organization’s overall intelligence and innovation.
