Srinivas Mahankali to Lead AI Task Force for Private Security Industry Under CAPSI

New Delhi: Srinivas Mahankali, a seasoned digital transformation professional specializing in Blockchain, Web3, Cybersecurity, Cloud, and AI technologies, will be in the leadership of the national task force on “AI in Private Security Industry” backed by the Central Association of Private Security Industry (CAPSI). The initiative is guided by CAPSI Chairman Kunwar Vikram Singh.
CAPSI, recognized as the apex body of India’s private security industry, plays a pivotal role in advancing security management. The organization represents over 35,000 private security agencies, employs more than 10 million guards, secures over one lakh establishments, and protects nearly half of India’s population. CAPSI’s contributions significantly bolster national security and economic growth.
Addressing Challenges Through AI
The initiative aims to tackle some of the most pressing challenges faced by the security sector, including enhanced security threats, operational inefficiencies, and the need for skill development. The task force plans to:
- Identify AI applications specific to the security industry within 60 days.
- Pilot AI-driven surveillance and threat detection systems in five key areas over the next six months.
- Develop ethical guidelines for AI usage in security within 90 days.
- Train over 500 security personnel on AI tools and applications within a year.

Speaking about the initiative, Srinivas Mahankali said: “In the coming years, CAPSI will pioneer AI-driven security solutions, transforming the sector’s operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, and community safety. CAPSI’s AI-enabled private security initiative marks a pivotal moment in India’s security sector. We envision a future where AI-driven solutions seamlessly integrate with existing security frameworks, fostering a safer, more efficient, and responsive security ecosystem. This collaborative effort will set a new standard for private security globally.”
Highlighting the impact of AI integration, he added, “CAPSI’s AI integration will significantly enhance the private security industry’s capabilities, enabling proactive threat mitigation, optimized resource allocation, and improved response times. We expect significant growth and adoption in the next 24-36 months.”
Srinivas also emphasized the potential advancements AI could bring, stating, “As CAPSI leads the AI-driven security revolution, we anticipate substantial advancements in areas like predictive analytics, biometric authentication, and intelligent surveillance involving the use of a large-scale IoT, CCTV, and drone network-based systems. This will redefine the security landscape in India.”
